The Pioneer DJ DM-40D is a 4-inch two-way active desktop monitor system built for DJs and producers who want one compact pair of speakers that works equally well for mixing and music production. It is sold as a pair, with one active and one passive cabinet.
Each speaker uses a 4-inch fiberglass woofer and a 3/4-inch soft-dome tweeter, driven by a Class D amplifier with 96 kHz DSP rated 19 W per band. A DJ/Production switch flips the DSP voicing for each task, while updated DECO convex diffusers and time-aligned drivers widen the sweet spot, and grooved bass-reflex ducts keep the low end tight near a wall. Connectivity includes RCA, 3.5 mm mini-jack and a 1/4-inch TRS input, plus a front headphone socket and level knob.
