This is the largest and most common type of record on the market today. Each side of a 12-inch vinyl record typically holds 20 minutes of audio at 33 rpm, making them most suitable for full-length albums (also known as LPs). Typically running at 45 rpm, 7-inch vinyl records are also sometimes referred to as "45s".

Most popular during the 1950s and 1960s, 7-inch vinyl records can fit many older record players. They have limited capacities compared to 12-inch records, as they are designed to hold just one song on each side.
