The Schlagwerk U62 Basic Udu is a clay vessel drum in the Nigerian udu tradition: a ceramic pot with side and top openings whose deep, liquid bass tones sound like nothing else in percussion.
Striking the side hole with the palm produces the udu's signature resonant 'water drop' bass, while fingers on the ceramic body add bright, articulate textures. Loved by percussionists, producers and sound designers alike, it is an entire palette in one clay pot.
