The Novation Bass Station II is a modern analogue classic: a 25-key monophonic synthesizer with a huge, aggressive voice that has powered basslines and leads for over a decade, and keeps getting better through free firmware updates.
Two analogue oscillators plus a dedicated sub-oscillator feed a switchable dual-filter section, choosing between the Classic Bass Station ladder filter and the raw 'Acid' diode filter, with drive for extra grit. A step sequencer and arpeggiator, two envelopes, two LFOs and oscillator filter modulation cover sound design and performance, with 64 factory and 64 user patch slots for instant recall. Firmware updates have added the AFX Mode (developed with Aphex Twin, allowing per-key overlays) and more.
