Audio-Technica ATH-M50x Professional Monitor Headphones
The Audio-Technica ATH-M50x is a closed-back, over-ear professional monitor headphone and one of the most widely used studio headphones in the world. Its sealed circumaural design isolates the listener from ambient noise, making it a dependable reference for tracking, mixing and critical listening.
Proprietary 45 mm large-aperture drivers with rare-earth neodymium magnets and copper-clad aluminium voice coils deliver an extended 15 Hz to 28 kHz frequency response with deep, accurate bass and clear high-frequency detail. A 38 ohm impedance keeps the M50x easy to drive from interfaces and portable devices, while 90-degree swivelling earcups and a collapsible design make it practical for monitoring on the move.

“Conclusion Has ATH hit a homerun again? Could be so – at least for consumers! At the studio professional end, things are a tad more complicated. No doubt, it’s a great headphone with relatively little shortcomings, but the tuning might be too “fun” to be considered reference grade.
