The DW Collector's Series Maple SSC 5-piece Shell Set in Black Ice is a Custom Shop flagship: five drums handcrafted in Oxnard, California to DW's Specialized Shell Configuration: the Custom Shop's state-of-the-art recipe that matches its legendary shell technologies to each drum size, layering North American maple plies in horizontal, vertical and diagonal grain orientations to tune the fundamental pitch and maximize resonance.

Each size gets its optimized shell: VLT rack toms (8x10" and 9x12") with lowered fundamentals and singing sustain, a 10x13" VLT tom, a VLX 14x16" floor tom with six diagonal plies for maximum depth, and a VLX+ 18x22" bass drum — the deepest voice DW builds. Iconic Collector's turret lugs, STM suspension mounts, True-Pitch tension rods and precision bearing edges complete drums that define the modern professional sound, in a mirror-deep Black Ice finish.
