I'd say that depends on how important a slow trem, tap tempo, pre-delay, and midi capabilities are to you. For me it was worth it to prepare my pedalboard for MIDI integration + have a more flexible Flint at the end of my signal chain.

The V2 version retains all the character of the original with some welcome quality-of-life upgrades under the hood in the form of full MIDI implementation, a JFET input circuit, and a powerful ARM DSP chip . I had a Flint v1. Amazing pedal. The sounds are top-notch and extremely easy to dial in.

I decided to "upgrade" to the v2 for its MIDI capabilities, hoping to be able to store some more presets and use MIDI clock for tempo. I'm really disappointed that Strymon did not include an actual MIDI in (or thru) jack. These points make the MIDI implementation on the v2 practically worthless to me.

Strymon can and should do better. The sounds from this pedal are amazing, but they really need to improve on the user interface for MIDI and preset management. I'll keep the pedal for a while in hopes they will release some editing apps. Read More Show Less ...
